The word “Humar” has two related meanings. First, Humar is a divine inspiration of the human spirit towards true happiness and harmony. Obtaining Humar is a way of praying in the Tangrian belief. Through Humar, believers of the Eternal Blue Heaven inspire themselves to great and uplifting deeds. Secondly, Humar is also a sacred place for praying. This place usually represents an area with items that can inspire us toward higher goals in life. Such inspiring items may include anything one finds appropriate: candles, an ancestor’s photograph, talismans, books, digital frames, a computer monitor, etc. Inspire yourself to greater deeds and achieve higher levels of harmony, success and happiness! Everyone is free to furnish their own Humar their own way, as long as it inspires them towards true happiness in life. The Skyreacher school of Qutlyh Belief (Modern Tangriism) suggests that the Humar place should consist of three parts. The first part should remind us of the highest goals in life. A second part should remind us of the most important achievements of the past. The third part should remind us of the dangers that we need to avoid. Such a Humar place should also include the names of Tangri and the Holy Trinity. Please see the sample display below.
THE SKYREACHER VISION
What does it take and what does it mean to be a Tangri believer? Belief in Tangri is not meant to give specific instructions on how to live. It is rather an approach that helps people to focus on true values, on how to search for the right answers. While different people may understand Tangriism in their own ways, this ancient belief also has its common threads. Here are some basic principles that unite Tangri believers: First, Tangri means acceptance of a higher authority in life. This means believing that this higher authority is inconceivable and has no direct representation in the material world. Tangri believers name this higher authority the Eternal Blue Heaven or Tangri. Second, Tangri believers consider a Holy Trinity -- (Tangri (God), Er-Sub (Earth-Water), and Ancestors (all of the glorious people who passed on the gift of life to us) – as the main source of divine power for humans. Tangri believers always refer to this Holy Trinity in their prayers and Humar inspirations. Third, Tangri believers desire to obtain Tangri’s true blessing – Qut -- in order to achieve higher levels of harmony and happiness in life. True Blessings - Qut can come to people in any form and it can be anything that brings true happiness, true – meaning pure, with no bad consequences. Basically, the above three principles are all what it takes to consider someone a Tangri believer. The common practices of this belief consist of: a) Referring to Tangri and the Eternal Trinity for inspirations, help and support. b) Maintaining Humar – the sacred place for divine inspirations and prayers. c) Upholding Qutlyh (Blessed) actions in life. These include – celebrating life, making sacrifices for higher purposes, providing help and charity for the needy. Belief in Tangri is not practiced to “sell” such actions to God. It is practiced in order to maintain better direction in life towards the ultimate goal – to build Qutlyh (Blessed) life. The Qutlyh life means a well founded, well balanced life filled with endless happiness and endless potentials.
UNVEILING MISPERCEPTIONS AND MISREPRESENTATIONS
Despite the fact that Tangriism is one of the most ancient monotheist beliefs we know, despite the fact that Tangri believers once created the largest empire ever in human history (the Mongol Empire), despite the fact that descendents of the ancient Tangri believers make up significantly large group of World’s population, at present, Tangriism remains one of the least explored and the most misrepresented of beliefs. Was Tangriism wrongfully abandoned by many of its followers? It is too early to give a final answer. We believe the evidence is still too sketchy and the history too incomplete to provide a comprehensive answer to this question. At this point, it is appropriate to clear some of the most obvious misperceptions and misrepresentations about the Holy belief in Eternal Blue Heaven.
Is Tangriism paganism?
We believe that the word “paganism” originated as a derogatory term that has been used by some Christian scholars of the past. It was used to name and demean religions and spiritual practices other than their own. It is similar to Islamic word “kafir” that is used to name the non-Muslim people. Using the word “paganism” or "pagan" towards Tangriism is clearly improper and wrong. We believe no one deserves to be called names that they did not or have not accepted themselves. The Skyreachers, as true believers in the Eternal Blue Heaven, denounce the use of any derogatory words towards other peoples’ beliefs.
Are Tangriism and Shamanism the same?
The answer is no. The two terms - Tangriism and Shamanism -- really mean two different things. Tangriism is a modern term used to describe the philosophy of Tangri believers. Tangriism philosophy accepts the supremacy of the one and only God, naming this God - Tangri. Tangriism, endorses worshiping the Holy Trinity – Tangri, Er-Sub (the Earth), and Ancestors -- as the three destinies and main sources of power for human beings. No Shamans are to be worshiped. Tangriism uses the word “Shaman” to describe religious clerics, nothing more, nothing less. True Shamans may have their own approaches and their own teachings. Such teachings can be called Shamanisms. While acknowledging Shamans as important and knowledgeable people, Tangriism endorses no Shamans or their teachings as absolutely true. Tangriism perceives the absolute truth well beyond human reach.
Who are Shamans after all?
The word “Shaman” is often misunderstood and misrepresented. Many people mistakenly think that this word should be used to describe primitive and obviously improper indigenous practitioners of various beliefs. Because this word is widely misused, some argue that it is inappropriate to use this word outside of Tangriism itself. However, the real problem seems to be not broader application of the term, but its improper use. The word “Shaman,” originally being a Tangriism term, literally means “the one who knows”. Accordingly, Shamans are people who posses wisdoms and skills that can be useful and helpful. Therefore, it is appropriate to use the word Shaman only to describe people who possess advanced higher knowledge and skills. No charlatans, no obviously wrong people can be called Shamans. In the end, Tangri points out true Shamans through His eternal message – life. If life does not prove a Shaman to be truly knowledgeable, then he or she may not be called Shaman.
What is the role of spiritualism in Tangriism?
There is a misperception that Tangriism is about believing in spirits instead of believing in God. That is a very obvious mistake. Here is the real story: Shamans of Tangriism (every religion has its own “people who know”.) talk about some kind of parallel dimension to which they refer as the world of spirits. According to many Tangrian Shamans, every object we know, whether living or not, has its own spirit that lives in that dimension. They say that humans should respect and care for those spirits in order to maintain harmony in life. True Shamans may travel to that parallel dimension and interact with various spirits. From there they can obtain and bring back useful and helpful ideas for people to use. One should watch out, though, since there are bad spirits too, Shamans may end up bringing back bad things if something goes wrong. The whole idea of the “world of spirits” seems too unreal… too unbelievable, unless you have a key to access that parallel dimension. Well, here is the key: switch the word “spirit” in this whole story with another word – “meaning” or “true meaning”. As we can see, spiritualism is a kind of ancient analytical technique very similar to techniques used by today’s researchers and analysts.
REACHING OUT TO THE SKIES
WE NAME GOD – TANGRI OR ETERNAL BLUE HEAVEN We say – Eternal, because God is constant and immortal. We say - Blue, because God is unreachable and above all. We say - Heaven, because God represents endless good, peace and harmony.
WE BELIEVE GOD IS THE RULER OF THE UNIVERSE We believe that forces of good are more powerful than forces of chaos. God provides the Universe with forces of good – Harmony and Perfection. Therefore we believe that God is above all and that the forces of good rule the Universe.
IF GOD IS SO POWERFUL WHY DO BAD THINGS TAKE PLACE? Our material Universe is the world of flaws and imperfections by its own nature. Nothing in it is perfect and nothing in it is absolutely good, including us – humans. Therefore bad things always happen in life. God always makes things better.
NO ONE CAN REPRESENT GOD, NO ONE CAN SPEAK FOR GOD. No one can see God, no one can hear God, no one can touch God. No Human being can fully comprehend nor represent God. God is unreachable and yet God is endlessly powerful. God is absolute.
TANGRI IS ABSOLUTE AND PERFECT, THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE Neither Shamans, nor their teachings and religions can ever be as perfect as God. The best of Shamans and the best of their teachings and religions are inspired by God. Therefore, we pay respect and attention to them, but we only worship Tangri.
TANGRI IS ETERNAL, HIS MESSAGE IS ETERNAL AND CONSTANT Life is God’s one and only true message to us. This message is our treasure and hope. Life is filled with God’s messages. We try to understand them to gain Tangri’s blessings. We learn from the past, present and future to gain more Qut - Tangri’s true blessings.
WHEN AND HOW WERE HUMANS CREATED? Humans discovered that they were gradually created through a long process of evolution. Evolution is possible because God helps the forces of goodness to prevail. The human body comes from an imperfect material world and the soul comes from God.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF HUMAN LIFE? We are born to bring the imperfect material World closer towards perfection. Our achievements toward that goal give us true joy and true happiness. Tangri supports human beings by sending us “Qut” – God’s true blessings.
HOW DOES TANGRI SEND US QUT – TRUE BLESSINGS? Tangri interacts with our imperfect material world indirectly, through third parties. Therefore Qut – true blessing, can come to us in any form and from any direction. It can be anything - good luck, wisdom, support, whatever that brings true happiness.
HOW DO WE OBTAIN MORE QUT TO LIVE MORE BLESSED LIVES? By learning from God’s true message – life in its past, present and future. By focusing on the Holy Trinity - Tangri, Er-Sub (Mother-Earth), Glorious Ancestors. By learning from “People who know” – Shamans and their teachings and religions.
HOW TO APPROACH SHAMANS AND THEIR TEACHINGS – RELIGIONS? Shamans and their teachings and religions represent the human quest for God’s blessings. Shamans and their religions are to be respected for the wisdoms and blessings they may contain. However, they are not to be trusted unquestionably. Only Tangri is absolute and perfect!
USE JUDGEMENT WHEN DEALING WITH SHAMANS AND RELIGIONS True Shamans reach out to higher levels of wisdom to bring more blessings to life. Along with wisdoms, Shamans may also bring false, wrong and dangerous ideas. Tangri helps to determine truth and wrong through success and failure in life.
ABSOLUTE REWARD – HEAVEN AND ABSOLUTE PUNISHMENT – HELL The real Heaven and Hell represent rewards and punishments during our lifetime, based on our actions. People exist between the two, trying to escape life’s Hell and reach out to life’s Heaven. After death, the human body goes back to Er-Sub, the soul returns to the Eternal Blue Heaven.
BALANCING AND EXPANDING ARE THE FUNDAMENTAL VALUES OF LIFE Freedom. It assures that we have the best possible options available. Wisdom. It helps us to determine and to pursue those best options the most effectively. Love. It helps us to spread the power of life through giving and forgiving.
TANGRI IS OUR GOD, THE HOLY TRINITY IS OUR SUPPORT Tangri – Eternal Blue Heaven is the beginning and the ending destiny of life. The Holy Trinity - Tangri, Er-Sub, and Ancestors -- are our main sources of power. The Trinity enables us to bring the imperfect World closer towards the Blue Heaven.
WE PRAY IN ORDER TO RECEIVEDIVINE INSPIRATION – HUMAR God rewards us based on our actions, not based on our beliefs or prayers. Appropriate prayers help us to inspire ourselves towards the right actions. We pray to Tangri and to The Holy Trinity to obtain Humar – divine inspiration.
